Want to dine like you’re at your Italian grandmother’s house? Al Mancini recommends heading to Salute Trattoria Italiano at Red Rock Resort from Luciano Sautto. Some dishes he likes included the eggplant Parmesan, a fettuccine with vodka sauce made table side, zucchini flowers stuffed with ricotta “fried in one of the lightest batters I’ve had in a while,” and a pappardelle Bolognese with an “unexpected sweetness to it.” The only thing he wouldn’t order again is the albacore crudo “piled up with avocado, Calabrian chili, orange and what seemed like vinaigrette that it smothered the delicate fish flavor.” [VS]

Jason Harris checks out Omoide Noodles & Bowls, where he recommends the ten zaru with cold udon noodles served with ginger, scallions, sesame seeds and daikon on the side. “Dump the toppings on the noodles and dip in the accompanying sauce.” [LVW]

Spencer Patterson heads over to John Chien Lee of Soho Japanese Restaurant fame’s new Jaburritos to try the sushi burritos that combine sushi with Mexican fare. He recommends the Baja with yellowtail and spicy tuna with cilantro, jalapeños, avocado, red onion, tortilla strips, cabbage, lettuce and avocado cilantro sauce and the Long Beach with shrimp tempura, spicy tuna, imitation crab and more. [LVW]

Also of note, an Eater Vegas tipster says Soho Japanese Restaurant stopped serving lunch for now.
