Marc Sgrizzi's follow-up to his shuttered Parma by Chef Marc has announced an opening date. Chef Marc's Trattoria will take over the former Argana Moroccan Restaurant at the Lakeside Village Plaza on Saturday, Nov. 14.
The 2,527-square-foot "authentic Italian trattoria" will feature an 800-square-foot patio with room for 80 inside, but no beer and wine until they receive their alcohol license in December. The chef promises "this place definitely has the most charm of any place I've owned yet. Like a visit to an old Tuscan villa."
Guests are advised to reserve at 702-233-6272 and opening weekend will feature brunch with "a chanterelle mushroom omelet and an upstate dish called Giambotta." Comparing the the concept with Parma, Sgrizzi earlier revealed "there will be more items on this menu, and the prices will be lower."
Looking ahead, the restaurant will also host "cooking classes and demonstrations revealing great artisan recipes that I learned in Italy and throughout my career" and a pancetta class, "with 10 people signing up to make their very own artisan cured pancetta. Where I will age it for you in my walk-in cooler."
