Originally planned to debut in September, extensive remodeling will delay the opening of Hi Scores Bar-Arcade's expansion out of Henderson into the shuttered Home Plate Bar & Grill. The 1980s video arcade meets modern tavern concept will rework the space to feature two separate sections and add a patio with TVs and food service.
One side of the building will feature the Hi Scores signature collection of arcade games and '80s memorabilia. All those games can be played for free. The other side hosts the tavern with real-money video poker, sports watching, a pub food menu and a selection of micro brews.
An exterior wall will be painted a "lime hue" to mirror their original Henderson location and match the color scheme of the cult arcade game, Golden Tee Golf, co-created by Richard Ditton, the proprietor of Hi Scores. The Stephanie Street outpost is open daily from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m., but hours at the new Blue Diamond location have yet to be revealed.
The re-design has just entered the Clark County approval process.
