The fourth local Taqueria El Buen Pastor arrived under the Fremont Street Experience awning, less than four months after taking over The County Fair Las Vegas' state fair-inspired food emporium and the little remembered Asada's Tacos.
Offering Guadalajara-nspired Mexican food at a budget price, El Buen Pastor debuted in 2010, growing from their still active taco stand on Bonanza Road and Las Vegas Boulevard. The new location raises prices a little, with items such as tacos de lengua, or beef tongue tacos, now priced 50 cents higher at $3. With the location as a tourist mecca, they've also prominently added choices such as chicken fingers for $7.50, $4.50 hot dogs and a weighty portion of asada fries for $11.50.
But guests can still sample the more authentic flavors in their enchiladas, flautas, sopes, tacos de cabeza and tacos de tripa. They also serve a street food staple, salchipulpos, created with spicy sausage, mustard and ketchup for $5.50
Opening hours have yet to be fixed, but their three other locations operate from 10 a.m. to midnight daily and until 1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
