Westgate Las Vegas has been trying to install an Italian restaurant for more than a year, originally expected to be called Modo Mio Ristorante Italiano. But now, Fresco Italiano will take its place, officially debuting on Nov. 9. The casual atmosphere will offer "trattoria style Italian cuisine that is imaginative, approachable, and affordable with an emphasis on freshness and simplicity."
The interior design of a "Tuscan inspired Villa" will apparently also feature a video wall displaying static photographs of Italian landmarks, slowly sliding to the left in the hope of creating the impression of being on a train journey. Place cards will indicate each location on the trip.
Open daily from 5 to 10 p.m., hot and cold antipasto will be served "table side from our 'dim sum' inspired rolling carts." Flat breads will be cooked in a stone fired pizza oven and the Modo Mio, "my way," concept has been kept for the pasta dishes with guests choosing their own pasta and sauce combinations.
Main dishes include "bone in veal chop parmigianino nesting on fresh burrata, or beef short rib overstuffed tortellini gigante or our chicken rustico slowly cooked in cast iron in its natural juices enhanced with fresh herbs and root garden vegetables." The remaining menu features unnamed "meats, seafood, pasta, risotto along with gluten free and whole grain pasta offerings."
And if you want to recreate the Fresco Italiano experience in your own home, the designers have posted the entire 26-minute journey to YouTube.
