Updating Greens & Proteins and Le Pho at The Juhl

Back in July, the Review-Journal predicted Greens & Proteins would debut at the Juhl within 90 days, seemingly without looking through the window. At the time the site still featured a dirt floor and will remain that way until the end of the year. The Juhl residential building's official Facebook page now reveals Greens & Proteins' Patrick Haggerty expects to break ground on their fourth local location, "before the end of the year."

Arriving much sooner, Le Pho, a Vietnamese restaurant with a menu from District One Kitchen & Bar executive chef Khai Vu and Dan Coughlin, chef and owner of Le Thai. They have begun the hiring process for all positions. The interior design is by Amy Kim, who worked with Philippe Starck on the SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills. In early October, the interior of the 1,566-square-foot corner spot was still in a skeletal phase. Le Pho will also feature an eight foot stretch of outdoor dining.

Proposed hours are expected to be from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and already suggested dishes include banh cuon, "steamed rice roll stuffed with ground pork, wood ear mushroom and shallot," banh mi op la, created with a "baguette, pâté, eggs, fresh cut veggies" and pho ga, a Vietnamese chicken noodle soup. A "Spring Roll Bar" is also part of the plan.
