Botero, the steakhouse at Encore Las Vegas, shuttered at the beginning of November, and now comes word that the restaurant will be called Jardin when it reopens sometime this month.
Executive chef Joseph Zanelli confirms the restaurant, rumored to be a more casual three-meal spot, that closed on Nov. 1 will become Jardin, French for an enclosed garden.
The restaurant is already going through an estimated $1.4 million renovation for construction costs alone on the 7,351-square-foot space. The remodel includes the restaurant, kitchen and patio but does not change the size of Botero footprint. The construction walls are already down there as well.
Earlier, Zanelli announced that he was leaving Andiron Steak & Sea at Downtown Summerlin to take over Botero. Former Botero chef Mark LoRusso headed over to Bartolotta to helm the kitchen at the renamed Costa di Mare after Paul Bartolotta's departure.
