Fans of Chicago-style pizza will be able to trek the Grand Bazaar Shops next year to sample some authentic recipe, deep dish, stuffed pies and while away the day on a new patio. Giordano’s will be joining Starbucks and the long promised Wahlburgers as the retail center's dining and beverage anchors and the pizza experts want to make a big splash.
In addition to a full restaurant, they are making plans to create a 14-foot tall, 1,718-square-foot partially enclosed patio with a wood veneer trellis ceiling. Inside, the patio will be roomy enough for 68 guests at dining tables and a further 51 seats at the bar.
Created in 1974 on the south side of Chicago, Giordano's now operates 50 outposts in Illinois, plus locations in Florida, Indiana, Minnesota and will shortly be expanding to Arizona. An arch rival of fellow stuffed pie veteran Nancy's, Giordano's also offers a menu of salads, Italian beef sandwiches and familiar favorites like lasagna, meatballs and chicken carbonara rigatoni.
