A fast food switcheroo in Henderson will replace a combination Long John Silver's and A&W Restaurant with the seventh local DQ Grill & Chill. The stand alone building at Victory Village Plaza on Lake Mead was the last location of A&W in Las Vegas with the closest now located in Boulder City.
Work on the 2,866-square-foot space with room for 74 inside will keep the drive-thru and feature an upgraded Dairy Queen menu. Building on the familiar DQ frozen treat selections, the Grill & Chill concept was created in 2001 and includes breakfast, "GrillBurgers," grilled sandwiches, chicken strips, wraps, popcorn shrimp and limited table service.
Original plans called for a December debut.
