Restaurants and embassies in 150 countries around the world plan to offer a French dinner on Thursday, March 19, to celebrate France’s gastronomy. The Goût de France initiative was organized by miX Restaurant’s own Alain Ducasse and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development in France. Ducasse expects 1,500 restaurants to participate.
Executive chef Bruno Riou at the restaurant atop the Delano puts together a $90 pre-fixe menu that includes gougeres (French cheese puffs); a crab salad with avocado, heart of palm, cucumber and bell pepper; seared duck foie gras with peas “a la francaise;” slow-baked halibut with shellfish and “mariniere” jus; slow-braised Wagyu beef cheeks; Brie de Meaux; and chocolate soufflé.
