When Will Gelato Messina Open at Downtown Summerlin?

Waiting for something new to open at Downtown Summerlin? Gelato Messina is just about to debut, setting a March 9 opening at the massive shopping center south of Red Rock Resort.

The gelato shop out of Australia offers 40 flavors with five new specials every week. The pop-culture themed specials include Breaking Bad-themed Heisenberg with blueberry yogurt gelato with crystalized violets and Elvis, The Fat Years with peanut butter gelato with fried brioche and banana jam.

In Australia, the shops has lines running around the block at its six locations. Fan favorites include salted caramel, white chocolate and apple pie.

The shop’s nine gelato cakes include delicacies such as Dr. Evil’s Magic Mushroom, the Tiramisu Smash and the Black Forest, all layered.

Las Vegas-based hospitality consultants Epicurean Strategic Partners convinced Gelato Messina to make the move to the United States. “Everyone in Australia knows about Gelato Messina and it’s our goal to make sure everyone in America does too,” says Tony Figurelli of ESP in a press statement. “Their process is an art and a science, we can’t wait to open in Las Vegas and share this gelato.”

Gelato Messina will be located at 2010 Festival Plaza Drive.
