Boulder City has a new three-meal restaurant taking over the former Big Horn Restaurant on Arizona Street. Scratch House Restaurant makes everything from scratch, even the ketchup and bread, made in house daily. Simple chicken, beef, pork or pasta dishes make the menu here.
At lunch, find sandwiches including a Special Scratch House Burger made with ground beef and lamb mixed with feta cheese, Kalamata olives and rosemary and ale-battered fish and chips. The most expensive items at $20.99 are meant to share — platters of meats and cheeses.
At dinner, a wild mushroom risotto can be an appetizer or entree. A foie gras burger, pan-seared sea bass or salmon and a filet mignon give you an idea of the main courses. Six desserts including sticky toffee pudding and meringue roulade round out the menu. Sixteen beers by the bottle and a collection of wines are on the drinks menu.
Looking for the restaurant? You can’t miss the giant whisk sculpture on the roof.
