The plan for seven Checkers drive-thru burger restaurants to circle Las Vegas is nearing completion. The fifth location has been revealed for 1900 E. Charleston Blvd., taking over a former Tortas El Rey taco joint.
The 1,711-square-foot project will expand on the existing building and provide indoor seating, operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Checkers is perhaps better known to East Coast burger fans under their alternate name of Rally's. With their distinctive checkered flags and racing theme exteriors, the chain is also known for their very competitive price point, "secretly seasoned" fries and their chatty Mr. Bag mascot.
A sixth Checkers is still tentatively planned to be built across the street from the Hard Rock Hotel, at the soon to be renovated Shoppes at Harmon Square, making it the most convenient location to the Strip.
