Elizabeth Blau and her husband chef Kim Canteenwalla debut Andiron Steak & Sea tonight at Downtown Summerlin, and here’s your first look inside. The masculine side of the restaurant addresses the hearty steaks, while the feminine side finds a home in the decor. "We wanted to create a space that was a little bit of a departure from your typical steakhouse, and offered an elegantly residential environment that really allows the food to shine," Blau says in a press statement.
Thomas Schlesser’s New York-based Design Bureaux Inc., which designed Bar Boulud, David Burke Kitchen and Má Pêche, created the look here that is reminiscent of a Hamptons cottage. Navy and creams highlight the palette here. The main dining room features washed woods, floor-to-ceiling plantation shutters and a glass-walled demonstration kitchen. Behind the bar find a fireplace, the nod to the Andiron name. A private dining room and outdoor patio round out the design. Take a look inside.
