Pizza king Tony Gemignani’s takeover of Las Vegas now expands down to Henderson. Today he opened his second Pizza Rock at Green Valley Ranch, where he serves classic Italian entrees, pastas and 11 styles of his gourmet pizzas.
The 7,000-square-foot restaurant features a 20-seat interactive wood-fire bar, room for 200 and the deejay booth inside a truck also found at the Downtown Grand location. The 40 80-inch HD TVs even come with Xbox gaming systems.
Gemignani earned his reputation after winning 11 World Pizza Cups, and he brings those pies to his newest location. Try the Margherita with San Marzano tomatoes, mozzarella, fior di latte, basil, extra virgin olive oil and sea salt as well as other varieties including New York/New Haven, Chicago cracker thin, classic American, regional Italian, Roman, Sicilian, Californian, sausage and stout, Detroit and gluten free. The restaurant uses four different pizza ovens.
Other dishes on the menu include antipasti, sausage and peppers, eggplant parmigiana, spaghetti and meatballs and dishes created just for the Green Valley Ranch location including fried green tomato salad and gemelli pasta.
Pizza Rock also features local beers from Banger Brewing Co., Bad Beat Brewing, Crafthaus Brewery and Joseph James Brewing Co., with 40 beers on tap as well as California and Italian wines.
Gemignani opened his counter-service Slice House in the food court at Green Valley Ranch last month. Next month he brings Little Tony’s to Palace Station, expanding his Vegas empire to four locations.
