Worried about the Las Vegas Convention Center taking over the Peppermill Restaurant and Fireside Lounge? Fear no more.
LVCVA wanted to buy the land under the restaurant and lounge for a massive expansion that is already taking over the Riviera, which closes May 4. The convention board agreed to buy the 60-year-old Riviera for $182.5 million.
Now the Doumani family says it "will take over 100 percent ownership of the building and its 1.1-acre parcel at 2985 Las Vegas Blvd. S."
Previously, the "Doumanis owned 40 percent of the property, while the estate of Mildred Ash, the wife of a former development partner, owned 60 percent."
Lorenzo Doumani bid $10.65 million on the land during a public court auction.
Don’t expect any changes at the restaurant that has been open since 1971.
