El Santaneco, the Mexican restaurant at 4632 S. Maryland Pkwy., came within two points of being shut down by the Southern Nevada Health District after a routine inspection on March 5.
Inspectors found no hot and cold running water from an approved source, food unprotected from potential contamination, ineffective pest control measures and more.
El Santaneco demerits
SNHD shut down the restaurant in 2012 with a 43-demerit re-inspection. This is the sixth C grade the restaurant received since 2006.
The Southern Nevada Health District routinely shuts down restaurants that receive more than 40 demerits. Restaurants have the option of requesting a re-inspection before the next scheduled inspection.
