What Each Avengers Character Would Swill in Las Vegas

Find out what Captain America, Thor, Iron Man, The Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye would drink and where to get it.

Potentially the biggest movie of the year in terms of box office receipts comes out next Friday, and there’s a cocktail (or six) to go with it. Marvel’s much-anticipated The Avengers 2: Rise of Ultron debuts on May 1, and these six cocktails are perfect for Captain America, Thor, Iron Man, The Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye to swill. Some are classics, while others are a bit more adventurous.

Captain America would drink the Old Fashion at Stack Restaurant & Bar at the Mirage. Steve Rogers was raised in the early 1900s and kept his old-fashioned values after being revived from suspended animation in ice to join The Avengers in the present day. The cocktail is made with Wild Turkey 101, rounded out with bitters and house-made syrup and topped off with an orange peel and a brandied cherry.

Thor would imbibe on the Hammered at Public House at the Luxor. The Asgardian god of thunder already wields the enchanted hammer, Mjolnir, against his foes. And like Mjolnir, Public House’s Hammered gives its wielder power with Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey, raspberries, lemon juic, sour and simple syrup.

Of course, Iron Man would want the Housemade Fireball at Michael Mina’s Pub 1842 at the MGM Grand. Tony Stark created the signature powered suit of armor that would save his life and turn him into the superhero. That suit features a bounty of weapons, including high-powered fireballs that shoot from his palms. Pub 1842’s Housemade Fireball has that same power in just one shot.

The Hulk would guzzle the Pizzazerac at Rx Boiler Room at Mandalay Place. Just like the Hulk, the Kubler Asbinthe in Rx Boiler Room’s Pizzazerac is crazy powerful and an appealing shade of green. The Breaking & Entering Bourbon showcases The Hulk’s more destructive characteristics, while the 32 Day Aged Grand Marnier is reminiscent of Bruce Banner’s calmer side. Clove syrup along with a mixture of Angostura bitters and Peychauds bitters finish off this drink.

Black Widow is going to order up What She’s Having at Sage at Aria. Breckenridge Vodka and Natasha Romanoff both have Russian roots. As the only female Avenger, Black Widow breaks out of her assumed role as femme fatale and proves to be a powerful force with unrivaled combat skills. Sage’s What She’s Having made by Aria’s property mixologist Craig Schoettler is deceptive like Natasha Romanoff with its Meyer lemon housemade shrub, soda, lemon wheel and rosemary-infused ice, but provides a bold kick with crushed black pepper.

Hawkeye scores with the Bull’s Eye at Double Barrel Roadhouse at the Monte Carlo. Once a reluctant villain, Clint Baron turned away from criminal activity to join forces with The Avengers. Double Barrel’s Bull’s Eye is right on target complementing Hawkeye’s archery skills with Makers Mark bourbon. Chambord and blackberry puree pay tribute to the master archer’s classic purple attire. Lemon juice and simple syrup complete this concoction.
