Muffuletta alert! The west side's Streetcar Po-Boys lasted almost a year on Oakey Boulevard. before shuttering last December, but they've now fired up the trolley and are moving 10 miles to the southeast.
They'll be bringing their New Orleans-inspired menu of beignets, hush puppies, Louisiana hot sausage and po-boys filled with fried oysters, catfish or alligator. The new 2,000-square-foot location at the Red Rock Plaza retail center was once the former site of restaurants as diverse as Los Tacos, Jalapeno Grill and Sholay. It sits next to the currently vacant Heidi's Brooklyn Deli.
The po-boy peddlers are working hard on a May debut and while new hours have yet to be revealed, the original location was open for both lunch and dinner.
