Have a layover at McCarran International Airport? Flying out of D Gates? Ruby’s Diner just revealed its $400,000 makeover at the airport. The revamp brings a 1960s-inspired setting filled with burgers, shakes and fries. The new light fixtures find inspiration from outer space, while mod new uniforms, wire chairs with pads and artwork of style icons and innovators of the era round out the new old vibe. John and Jackie Kennedy, Neil Armstrong, Marilyn Monroe, The Beatles and Johnny Cash hang on the walls while music of the era pipes through the speaker system.
Ruby’s originally opened at McCarran in 1998, and has more than 40 locations nationwide. The restaurant with room for 135 and a full bar is open daily from 4:15 a.m. to 11 p.m.
