Barring another unexpected stumbling block, Aburiya Raku has been given the green light to increase their number of seats by 66 percent. A new dining room is being added to the west side of the restaurant, often one of the most difficult locations to secure a reservation.
The expansion plans had faced opposition from the Spring Valley Town Advisory Board and Clark County staff, but the Clark County Planning Commission has wisely and unanimously approved the upgrade.

On its way, a free-standing, 690-square-foot new room, accessed by an automatic door leading to and from Raku. The 12-foot structure with a canvas roof will be surrounded by a six-foot tall bamboo bush or juniper hedge and three California fan palm trees.
Eight new tables with four seats each will help make those tricky Raku reservations a much easier proposition.
Part of the approval agreement includes the removal and upgrade of the dead landscaping and sad looking trees along Hauck Street. Construction work on the project has not yet begun.
