You’re about to get schooled. The next big restaurant is about to open at Downtown Summerlin, and this place makes school look like fun.
Public School 702 plans to open in early June with lunch, dinner, a weekend brunch and recess, also commonly known as happy hour near Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill, Crave and California Pizza Kitchen.
The 14,000-square-foot restaurant out of California from restaurateur Bob Spivak features American dishes from executive chef Phil Kastel. Look for bacon cheddar tots, crispy Buffalo cauliflower, Colorado lamb burger, crispy ahi tuna tacos, shrimp and white cheddar grits and roasted poblano with quinoa. Save room for the Nutella cookie sandwich and lemon meringue.
Behind the bar, 24 beers on tap with 11 rotating with the seasons. Tenaya Creek brews will be found there as well as 16 wines on tap.
The decor makes this space look very much like a school house with communal tables, a walkup bar, beer pong tables, oversized versions of Connect Four and Jenga and shuffleboard. Sit out on the patio that overlooks the Strip off in the distance.
Mondays will feature industry night, Wednesday karaoke and a vinyl-spinning DJ each Saturday.
