Take a look inside Yojie Japanese Fondue, the shabu shabu co-owned by comedian Jo Koy that just opened at Village Square. A mere 32 seats line the restaurant. Guests sit at the bar-like counter and mix their broth — sukiyaki, spicy miso or tonkatsu — in bowls heated in front of their seats. Then the magic begins as diners cook proteins and vegetables in the broth. That brick wall features work for sale from local artists that rotate. So far, co-owner Anton Guerrero says the lines have been insane to get in with an hour-long wait for seats, and soon the restaurant should have its liquor license. So get in early if you plan to swish swish.
