Ramping up from their current very soft opening mode, husband and wife team Jesus and Leslie Cibrian are just happy La Rue Marché Café is finally in business. First announced over a year and half ago, their dining, coffee shop and food market concept takes over a 7,541-square-foot, shuttered Chinese buffet located across the street from the original Lindo Michoacan.
The "bistro-style restaurant" will eventually serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, with an adjoining French-press focused coffee house, patisserie, bakery and an indoor produce and flower market.
The couple took over the restaurant space in August 2013, but were stymied by a former investor who walked out on the fully realized project before it could even start. Both the married team are local chefs and the coffee shop has been prepped by "master roaster & senior barista" Diego Rodriguez.
Opening hours and menus have yet to be revealed while the café finds its feet.
