After executive chef posts at the Mirage, the Venetian and the culinary boss of local chain Xtreme Sushi, Japan-born chef and owner Nakamura Takashi has debuted Sushi Takashi in the former Hiromaru space in Chinatown.
Initially promoting their 12 and 10 course sushi dinners priced at $39.95 and $29.95, a very full menu is now being served from Tuesday to Sunday from 5 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. and closed on Mondays.
The restaurant is also offering a shifting roster of generous sized combo deals, ranging from an all you eat special for $79.95, to a grab and go bento box priced at $9.95.
Original dishes created by chef Takashi are highlighted on the menu and include "Korogashi," fried mashed potatoes with ranch and ketchup sauce, crispy rice drizzled with eel sauce and a Sumo wrestlers hot pot made with seafood, beef tofu and shrimp.
Among his signature rolls, the chef is promoting the "Strongest Hawaiian" made with spicy yellowtail wrapped with tuna, jalapeno, kaiware and extra hot sauce, plus the "Japanese Lasagna" created with crab, avocado, topped with onion, cream cheese, white cheese and baked with mayo.
