Taking the essence of a casino coffee shop and adding some Las Vegas glamour and the spirit and menu of an American brasserie, the El Cortez has unveiled Siegel’s 1941 adjacent to the gaming floor.
The mammoth "Morning, Noon and Night" menu has kept some of the resort's legendary dishes, like their matzo ball soup, Alaskan king crab legs and the surprisingly popular liver and onions. Expanding on the shuttered footprint of The Flame Steakhouse, there is now room for 150 guests, 24 hours a day, watched over by images of Bugsy Siegel and his ill-fated soul-mate, Virginia Hill.
