Nine months after the Southern Nevada Health District first shut down the Los Amigos 2 food truck, an imminent health hazard has again taken the vehicle off the road.
Last September, SNHD inspectors found the Los Amigos staff didn't properly wash their hands, stored food unprotected from potential contamination, provided an inadequate number of hand washing facilities and more after a Sept. 16 re-inspection of the truck.
On June 15, inspectors discovered there was this time a lack of refrigeration, enough of a health hazard to immediately shut it down again.
Other demerits were given for hot and and cold running water violations, proper storage temperatures, protected food and kitchenware and and equipment not properly washed, rinsed and dried.
In February of this year, the company had received an A grade following a routine inspection.
The Southern Nevada Health District routinely shuts down restaurants that receive more than 40 demerits. Restaurants have the option of requesting a re-inspection before the next scheduled inspection.
