Juyoung Kang Behind the Stick at Delmonico Steakhouse Now

She's in charge of the 700-plus whiskies behind the bar.

Juyoung Kang is now officially behind the bar at chef Emeril Lagasse's Delmonico Steakhouse at the Venetian. She takes over from long-time lead mixologist Max Solano.

Kang takes over the creation of seasonal, specialty and classic cocktails for the restaurant and lounge and she’ll be charged with keeping the Delmonico whiskey library full. That book currently contains more than 700 types of Scotch, Irish, American, Canadian, Japanese and even Taiwanese and Indian whiskies. The seventh edition of the Delmonico Whiskey Book was just released June 1 and includes Delmonico’s own hand-selected exclusive Eagle Rare single barrel bourbon bottle.

Kang has been named Bombay Sapphire's Most Imaginative Bartender 2014. She also won contests from and Woodford Reserve's Manhattan Experience 2014; United States Bartenders' Guild and Nightclub & Bar's "Shake It Up" 2015; and Bacardi Legacy 2014.

Her bartending career started in her hometown of Philadelphia. She went on the to the Peninsula and former Thompson Hotel in California, before she moved to Las Vegas. Here work here took her to Comme Ca and Rose.Rabbit.Lie. at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, opening Park on Fremont, Commonwealth and the bar’s speakeasy The Laundry Room, as well as BLVD. Cocktail Co. in The Linq.
