More downtown booze is coming, just across the street from the Fremont Street Experience.

In theory it makes perfect sense, in practice a move by frozen drinks purveyors Evening Call to head downtown might raise the eyebrows of a few City officials.

Efforts to quash any more chances for downtown revelers to be able to buy booze and wander under the canopy of the Fremont Street Experience have created heated debates within the City Council chambers.

Current plans call for Evening Call to move into the International Eatery on the ground floor of Neonopolis, already home to China Max, DJ's Taco Bar and Dino's Little Italy. Evening Call successfully operates five locations on the Strip, in Mandalay Bay, Luxor, Harmon Corner, the Rio and Bally's Las Vegas.

The company is best known for their "Stiff Cocktails & Frozen Dreams," concept of crushed ice and tall, alcohol-infused drinks. Selections include the "Summer Fling" with frozen watermelon and Citron vodka, the "Jäger-Bomb" containing "frozen energy and Jägermeister" and the "Call Grilz," made with frozen passion berry and vodka, all designed to fit into souvenir containers for guests to sip while walking down the Strip.

A timetable for their Fremont Street arrival has not been revealed.
