Felipito’s Mexican Food at 5095 S. Decatur Blvd. came within two points of being shut down by the Southern Nevada Health District after a routine inspection on Thursday, June 18.
Inspectors found food unprotected from potential contamination, an inadequate number of of hand washing facilities, ineffective pest control measures, grade cards not posted and more.
Felipito's demerits
C grades are fairly common here with nine earned since 2002. SNHD shut down the restaurant in 2010 with 42 demerits.
The Southern Nevada Health District routinely shuts down restaurants that receive more than 40 demerits. Restaurants have the option of requesting a re-inspection before the next scheduled inspection.
