UFC Heavyweight Champion Fabricio Werdum won the first-ever UFC Ultimate Cookoff culinary competition at Lagasse’s Stadium at the Palazzo on Thursday night. Participating fighters included UFC welterweight Johny Hendricks, UFC middleweight CM Punk, UFC heavyweight Werdum and UFC middleweight Luke Rockhold. Athletes were given a mystery basket of ingredients and had to create a dish in 30 minutes in front of an audience. Celebrity chef Curtis Stone, UFC chief operating officer Lawrence Epstein and Venetian and Palazzo vice president of food and beverage Sebastien Silvestri judged. Hendrick defeated Rockhold in round one. Werdum defeated Punk in round two. Then Werdum won it all. [EaterWire]
