Some of the most acclaimed chefs in the world call Las Vegas home — Robuchon, Savoy, Gagnaire, Keller, Boulud to name a few. Their meals come with pricey bills that made Las Vegas the most expensive city for dining out with an average restaurant bill of $46.

So to ease that strain on your wallet, Eater Vegas has its first-ever Cheap Eats week. These food trucks, pizza slice parlors, cafes, taquerias and snack stands are just as essential to the lifeblood of this city as the celebrity chef restaurants and swanky tasting menus. For the next five days Eater Vegas celebrates these places and the people that make them tick. Stay tuned this week for maps, guides, photo essays, and recommendations galore.

To get into the spirit of Cheap Eats week, the editors over at Eater NY are participating in a no-guts-no-glory challenge called The Contest, in which each participant will attempt to eat three meals from restaurants for only $10 per day. Readers, you can participate and share your best budget eats here. Let the games begin!
