There are plenty of places to find beer, wine and burgers downtown, but come the end of August, Flippin' Good Burgers and Shakes will add their own taste spin, plus add custard to the mix. Still under construction and running late, the replacement for shuttered Uncle Joe's Pizza and Kabob Korner is now officially promising a late August debut for all prospective employees.
Owners Andrew Donner of Resort Gaming Group and Keith Grossman of the Triple George Grill will fill the 1,480-square-foot dining section with a clean, fast-food inspired layout, accessed via wide double doors opened to Fremont East. Guests will be able to counter order and then sit at one of the four booths, seven tables or at one of the seven seats facing the open kitchen prep station.
On the menu, burgers, sliders, chicken and turkey sandwiches. All can be complemented by custard shakes and craft beers. Next door, another much anticipated arrival, The Smashed Pig gastropub has slowed their initial harried construction pace, but still hopes to debut by the end of summer.
