A roundup of chef shuffles to get your holiday started early.
First up, Johnny Church, who was with MTO Cafe. He leaves for new ventures.
"Shift Hospitality wishes Johnny Church the best as he moves on to new ventures. The culinary team that has been helping to create and execute the MTO Cafe menu will remain and owners Ben Sabouri and Matt Moore will continue to guide the expansion of the brand, which includes growing the off-premise efforts with the addition of a food truck."
Church has been at Charlie Palmer's Aureole at Mandalay Bay, Andre's at the Monte Carlo, Alizé at the Palms, Paris Las Vegas' Eiffel Tower Restaurant, AJ's Steakhouse at the Hard Rock Hotel, just to name a few. In recent years, he worked with Michael Mina at XIV in Los Angeles, P.J. Clarkes at the Forum Shops at Caesars and View Wine Bar & Kitchen and Taste Market & Deli at Tivoli Village. Then he jumped on board with Rick Moonen at RM Seafood and Rx Boiler Room at Mandalay Place.
Also out, David Middleton, the executive chef at DB Brasserie at the Venetian. He was previously the executive chef at Marche Bacchus. DB has not replaced him yet.
Dan Rossi left Eiffel Tower Restaurant at Paris Las Vegas for Rose.Rabbit.Lie. at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. Rossi worked at Scarpetta and D.O.C.G. Enoteca at the resort as the chef de cuisine as well.
