Head to Commonwealth for Martes; Mercadito's First Anniversary Specials

DOWNTOWN — Commonwealth launches Martes, a new Latin-inspired rooftop fiesta every Tuesday (Martes, duh) from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. starting tonight. DJ Low plans to spin Latin house, salsa, bachata, merengue, reggaeton and Spanish hip-hop music. Mixologist Dan Marohnic serves up the Don Juan with Don Julio Blanco tequila, club soda and a lime wedge; and the Burro, made with Ketel One vodka, lime juice, ginger beer and a lime wedge, both for $8. Also land beer buckets with five cans of Modelo Especial or Corona for $25; an 8-ounce carafe of Don Julio 1942, priced at $80; and specialty tableside margaritas, crafted with Don Julio Blanco tequila for $40 for a pitcher that serves four, or individually for $10. RED ROCK RESORT — Mercadito celebrates its first anniversary with new, limited edition menu items starting on Friday, July 24, through Aug. 31. Executive chef Juan Puentes now has a surf and turf taco with rib-eye, tempura lemon shrimp and asparagus and cauliflower chipotle hash for $4 each. Also order the Old Fashioned Mercadito with muddled orange, filthy cherries, angostura bitters and Mercadito’s Herradura Double Barrel Reposado Tequila for $10.
