SNHD Shuts Down Taqueria El Buen Pastor

The seasonal location went through three inspections since June.

The seasonal Taqueria El Buen Pastor at 4777 E. Charleston Blvd. was shut down by the Southern Nevada Health District after a re-inspection on Saturday, July 25.

SNHD issued 18 demerits on June 18, then eight demerits and a C grade on June 26. This latest 19-demerit inspection uncovered inaccurate thermometers, unposted grade cards, potentially hazardous foods held at the wrong temperature and more.

The restaurant already has plans to open on Fremont Street Experience.

The health district conducts unannounced inspections at least once a year. Inspections are posted online about five days after the inspection. The Southern Nevada Health District routinely shuts down restaurants that receive more than 40 demerits. Restaurants have the option of requesting a re-inspection before the next scheduled inspection.
