Bambu Desserts & Snacks at 4810 Spring Mountain Road came within two points of being shut down by the Southern Nevada Health District after a routine inspection on Wednesday, Aug. 5.
Inspectors found spoiled food, ineffective pest control measures, food unprotected potential contamination, staff not washing their hands and more.
Bambu demerits
The restaurant was shut down by SNHD with 40 demerits in May 2014, and since, SNHD has been all over Bambu with seven inspections in the past year. The restaurant earned 38 demerits last March.
The health district conducts unannounced inspections at least once a year. Inspections are posted online about five days after the inspection. The Southern Nevada Health District routinely shuts down restaurants that receive more than 40 demerits. Restaurants have the option of requesting a re-inspection before the next scheduled inspection.
