The very popular Mississippi-styled M&M Soul Food Cafe at 3923 W. Charleston Blvd. was shut down by the Southern Nevada Health District after a re-inspection on Aug. 24. An Aug. 20 routine inspection has earned the restaurant a C grade, prompting the return visit.
The violations this time around included proper temperatures, food protected from potential contamination from chemical, or employees, accurate thermometers and properly washed kitchen wares.

The health district conducts unannounced inspections at least once a year. Inspections are posted online about five days after the inspection. The Southern Nevada Health District routinely shuts down restaurants that receive more than 40 demerits. Restaurants have the option of requesting a re-inspection before the next scheduled inspection.
