Direct from Texas, Oddfellows is now in soft opening mode at the Ogden, hosting a compact video dance club and and a large screen running clips in sync with video deejay selections.
Taking over the failed, 2,200-square-foot Scullery experiment, Oddfellows has turned the 100-seat "black box" theater into a dance floor. Owner Harvey Graham operates similar ventures under the Barbarella name in Houston and Austin and brought over their roster of scheduled themed nights.
Aug. 28 and 29 and Sept. 4 and 5 will welcome in the "Grand (ish) Opening Weekends" and will feature all-night $20 bottles of champagne, $2 Pabst Blue Ribbon and $2 well drinks until midnight. Already themed are "Footloose Fridays," with clips and music from the Eighties and "New Noise" Saturdays. Doors open at 10 p.m.
