Society Cafe Closes Its Doors at the End of the Year

Another domino in the Wynn/Encore lineup of restaurants falls. The resort just announced that Society Café at Encore Las Vegas will close at the end of December.

The news comes on the heels of Botero, the steakhouse at Encore Las Vegas named for the artist, announcing its shutter on Nov. 1 to be remodeled and turned into a new concept. That restaurant will convert into a three-meal venue.

Earlier, Joseph Zanelli announced that he was leaving Andiron Steak & Sea at Downtown Summerlin to take over Botero with Mark LoRusso heading over to Bartolotta to helm the kitchen and Paul Bartolotta departing.

The three-meal Society Cafe originally opened with the resort in 2008 with Kim Canteenwalla as the chef. Canteenwalla and his wife Elizabeth Blau now have Honey Salt, Made LV and Andiron Steak & Sea as well as Buddy V's Ristorante at the Palazzo.
