Chow, Your Downtown Chicken & Chinese Joint, Debuts Tuesday

Natalie Young's highly anticipated Chow is ready for its official debut at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 22. The sequel to Eat, a blueprint of how to cater to the Downtown scene and navigate the often tricky waters of a Downtown Project-funded world, Chow's 2,278-square-foot casual space will serve "Southern-style soul food with fine Chinese cuisine." A take-away window on Fremont St. has also been installed.

On a sell-out preview night, the promised Led Zeppelin soundtrack played and a restaurant-warming gift of a "lucky chicken" named Cashmere came to roost in a front-row seat.

Once the neighborhood navigates the Life Is Beautiful festival, projected Chow opening hours are expected to be Tuesday to Sunday, from 5 p.m.
