Two Nutrition Rush Snack Bars Shut Down by SNHD

Talk about malnutrition.

Nutrition Rush Snack Bar at 5310 W. Sahara Ave. was shut down by the Southern Nevada Health District on Friday, Sept. 25, with an imminent health hazard.

SNHD doesn’t specify the what shut the restaurant down, only marking it as "Other condition or circumstances that may endanger public health."

Staff also weren’t properly washing their hands, there was no hot and cold running water from an approved source, and there were an inadequate number of hand washing facilities.

The restaurant last earned a C grade in 2013.

Another Nutrition Rush Snack Bar at 7501 W. Lake Mead Blvd. was shut down by SNHD on Wednesday, Sept. 16, with an 11-demerit re-inspection.

The health district conducts unannounced inspections at least once a year. Inspections are posted online about five days after the inspection. The Southern Nevada Health District routinely shuts down restaurants that receive more than 40 demerits. Restaurants have the option of requesting a re-inspection before the next scheduled inspection.
