Raising Cane's will hit 10 locations this year, with still more on the way. Clearly a sustained hit with locals for its chicken fingers, "Cane's Sauce" and Texas toast. Vegas Caniacs can now get ready to sate their chicken cravings closer to the Strip when the chain's latest outpost is unveiled next month.

Situated cross Tropicana from the Wild Wild West Gambling Hall and a short distance from burger rival In-N-Out, the restaurant will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony 9 a.m. on Oct. 16.

The first 100 guests will receive a "commemorative t-shirt and free box combo good for their next visit, with any purchase." And if you are the 101st in line you can still feel good, as 100 percent of the profits for opening day will be donated to the Nevada chapter of March of Dimes.

Opening hours will be 9 a.m. to 1:30 a.m. Sunday to Thursday and — handy for the off-Strip position — 9 a.m. to 3 a.m. Friday and Saturday.

In keeping with local tradition, each Raising Cane's is given an appropriate, semi-secret nickname, and this time around it's "Tropic Thunder," a nod to the 2008 comedy starring Ben Stiller and Robert Downey Jr. The local franchisers explain, "It goes without saying that a little thunder must come when you’re making it rain chicken fingers!" Tropic Thunder joins The Flamingo, The Showgirl, The Strip, The Fifth Element, The Rock, The Hills, Air Force One and The 7th Wonder.
