The "World's Largest Hooters" sports bar and restaurant has debuted at the Palms, immediately becoming the directionless resort's most distinctive asset. Wide open to the casino floor, it takes over from the long shuttered experiment of Heraea, a female focused sports bar that barely lasted eight months.
The high walls that once blocked views inside Heraea have been torn down and diners and drinkers can choose to sit around the spacious center bar, select a booth, or sit at one of the many scattered tables served by gregarious, orange short wearing "Hooters Girls."
With nearly 50 TVs and sixteen video poker machines, Hooters has created its own little world with the resort. In return, Palms now features a recognizable name, but loses some exclusivity and cachet, with the Hooters brand already operating in Spring Valley, Henderson and for a while longer at the soon to be renamed Hooters Casino Hotel.
Casino guests have the option of trying the famous Hooters wings inside the 15,200-square-foot main space or heading out to the Palms Pool portion of the restaurant which debuted back in June. Opening hours are Sunday to Thursday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.
