The Golden Tiki has swayed along with its Tiki-filled interior and list of cocktails to match the vibe. Now comes word that the lounge starts serving food this week.
The pupu menu, available from 10 a.m. to 1 a.m., includes dishes such as a “Palm Tree Surprise” with kiwi, banana, tangerine for $7; the “Mystic Volcano” with fresh sliced watermelon served on dry ice for $8; “Golden Potstickers” served with a choice of pork, shrimp, chicken, beef or lamb for $9; fried spring rolls for $5; popcorn chicken for $5; fried squid balls for $6; Tiki wings for $6; and teriyaki chicken with grilled broccoli and corn for $9. Pupu is Hawaiian for appetizer.
The lounge also pays tribute to rocker David Bowie, who died on Saturday at age 69 after an 18-month battle with cancer. DJ Rex Dart plays music from Bowie’s 40 years in the musical industry, including “Fame,” “Under Pressure” and “Let’s Dance” tonight at 9 p.m.
