For the third year, the three-day For the Love of Cocktails returns, this time on the Strip and Downtown. From Wednesday, Feb. 10, through Friday, Feb. 12, ends with a gala at Skyfall Lounge at the Delano.
The event kicks off with drinks from mixologists Salvatore Calabrese, Tony Abou-Ganim, Francesco Lafranconi on Wednesday, Feb. 10, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Bound at The Cromwell. That’s followed by a five-course dinner at Giada at the resort from 7:30 to 10 p.m. paired with wines from the Antinori family Italian portfolio.
On Thursday, Feb. 11, head out on a bar crawl from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. that rambles through the Downtown Container Park’s Bin 702 and Oak & Ivy, Gold Spike, Carson Kitchen, Glutton, Therapy, Downtown Cocktail Room, La Comida, Inspire Theater, Tokyo 365, Silver Dollar, Velveteen Rabbit, Park on Fremont, Commonwealth, Atomic Liquor, Griffin and Herbs & Rye.
At 10 p.m. that night, USBG Cocktail Truck Wars pits eight mixologists paired with eight Las Vegas food trucks to create eight food and drink pairings, all competing for the grand title. Participating chefs include Justin Kingsley, instructor at Art Institute; Josh Clark, chef and owner of The Goodwich; Mike Minor, chef and owner of Truck-U BBQ; Gina Marinelli; Christian Guzman, chef and owner of Dragon Grille Food Truck; and Daniel Krohmer, chef and owner of Other Mama.
On Friday, Feb. 12, from noon to 5 p.m., seminars cover mixology tips and trucks, spirits conversation and hands-on opportunities. Then from 5 to 11 p.m. the final gala with two dozen cocktails by mixologists including Abou-Ganim and Lafranconi at Skyfall Lounge with food prepared by the Rivea team.
