The long-planned expansion for downtown's The Goodwich sandwich stand into the former Resnicks Market at the Soho Lofts is now in its final stages. To assure all hands are on deck, the creators of the cult-favorite "stacked-rite sandwiches" have temporarily shuttered the original location outside Dino's Lounge to focus on the move.
Expect it to take a couple more weeks before the Soho Lofts space debuts with more room, indoor seating and a full-size kitchen. While the future of the original Goodwich had been uncertain, the team now promises the kiosk will stick around and "will evolve into something a bit different, but will still be under the Goodwich banner." It is intended to reopen after undergoing its own renovations and repairs.
At the new location, look for breakfast service to be resumed, longer hours, an expanded menu, vegan options and local delivery.
The Goodwich in front of Dino's Lounge opened in 2014, replacing Viva Las Arepas, which now has its own location nearby on Las Vegas Boulevard.
