A 3,761-square-foot lounge, bar, store and humidor being built in the former Hyakumi Japanese restaurant and sushi bar at Caesars Palace now has a name and an owner.

Cigar Aficionado has revealed Michael Frey of Malecon Tobacco is one of the investors behind the Montecristo Cigar Barconfirming the Eater Vegas rumor his Case Fuente cigar bar was connected to the project.

Frey told the magazine the bar will offer "a light menu of charcuterie, cheese plates and other items." Appropriate for the Cleopatra's Way location, a short distance from the main casino floor, the bar will feature video poker and standard slots, plus a beverage menu highlighted by "high-end Bourbon, Scotch and cocktails."

Frey is also a partner in Drive This! Entertainment, which is behind Tacos & Tequila at Luxor and Rhumbar at the Mirage.

While the Montecristo cigar brand will be sold, it won't be the only, exclusive smoke available to guests. Cigar Affcionado was told a targeted opening has been set for March. The space has been gutted and is a current hive of activity.
