Scheduled to debut in the fall, W Las Vegas will take over the Lux Tower at the SLS Las Vegas and is already preparing to distance itself from its on-site sibling. While SLS will continue to operate the other two hotel towers, the W will remodel their rooms in their own style and build a new, three story meeting room addition, topped off by Wet, its own pool scene on the top floor.
Proposed to rise to 89 feet and fill a total of 40,000 square feet, the annex will be built in an existing courtyard at the center of the resort with a pedestrian bridge connecting guests to the hotel tower. Meetings or functions in the ballroom spaces are expected to be the primary uses.
The top floor pool area of Wet will cover approximately 10,000 square feet, with its own back-of-house support for what is described as a "bar/nightclub" in paperwork presented for Clark County planning approval.
SLS Las Vegas already operates its own pool and dayclub Foxtail, the smaller Lux Pool, which sits on top of the soon to debut performance venue The Foundry and 80,000 square feet of convention space including a 9,000-square-foot ballroom.
Construction work is yet to begin on the project. The W Las Vegas also plans to add a W Living Room, their version of a hotel lobby, "a dedicated entry and reception area for W Hotel guests" and the brand's own Away Spa replacing Ciel Spa.
