Wynn Las Vegas is showing no signs of resting following a series of recent major upgrades at the resort and sister property Encore. A proposed, purpose-built addition will add to the changes and create new retail, dining and drinking opportunities. Next to the main Las Vegas Boulevard entrance, the structure will also creep the resort closer toward the Strip.
Currently named Wynn Plaza, the "shopping center" will include unspecified restaurants and bars designed to "enhance the visitor experience." The exact location is unspecified in a current permit application, but refers to the area as being of "critical" importance and the resort's "front door."
An indoor area to the north of the entrance is already vacant following the departure of the Penske Wynn Ferrari Maserati car showroom. Additional space will also become free when the current poker room relocates to Encore to create the 8,823-square-foot Society Poker room inside the shuttered Society Cafe. The resort allocated $500,000 in estimated construction costs alone for the remodel.
With the cafe's closure, the resort has lost a restaurant and is now directing guests to sample their new concept, Jardin.

In a brief few months the property has seen the arrival of Jardin replacing Botero, the launch of Encore Player's Club, Costa di Mare and a remodeled buffet.

Other changes on the horizon include the debut of a new fountain in the man-made lake to the south of the property and the much-anticipated arrival of Tryst Nightclub replacement Intrigue on April 28.
